The Process
Sessions run June through October at carefully selected locations throughout the St. Croix River Valley, including the Stillwater area and scenic spots across eastern Minnesota and western Wisconsin. Each session is planned to match your style—whether that’s open fields, river views, or a more urban look—and I guide the entire experience so seniors feel comfortable, confident, and genuinely enjoy the process, with natural direction that brings out their personality in every image.

02 Your DayFollowing your session, you’ll receive a beautifully curated online gallery of your images to view and share with family. From the comfort of home, you’ll have a few weeks to review your photos and decide which collection and products best fit your vision. This flexible experience allows you to take your time, revisit your favorites, and choose what you truly love.
03 Gallery DeliveryExperiences
The Classic Experience
One Location Session $200The Classic Experience is perfect for seniors who want a laid-back session in one great location while still getting a solid variety of images. I choose spots that offer multiple views without requiring travel, so even though we stay in one place, your gallery will feel anything but repetitive. It’s a great fit if you have a favorite location in mind or just want something simple, fun, and easy.

We’ll use one location and move around within it to take advantage of different backdrops, light, and textures. That might mean a mix of architecture, greenery, open space, water, or layered backgrounds—so you end up with a wide variety of images without ever feeling rushed or bouncing all over town.

Most seniors bring around three outfits, which is the perfect amount to create different looks and styles during your session. I’ll help guide you on what works best so everything photographs well and feels cohesive in your final gallery.

This gives us plenty of time to explore the location, capture both posed and natural moments, and keep the whole experience relaxed and enjoyable from start to finish.

The Signature Experience
``Two Location Session $350The Signature Experience is perfect for seniors who want more variety and the flexibility of shooting in two different locations. This session gives us the chance to create a wider range of looks and really show off different sides of your personality. Whether you’re drawn to a mix of city and nature or just want more depth in your gallery, this option gives us that extra creative space while still keeping things relaxed and fun.
What’s Included?

We’ll plan out two locations that photograph well together and are within a comfortable driving distance, so the session flows smoothly. Popular combos include urban, natural, water and fields, or country and modern architecture. You can also include meaningful spots, such as a barn, an athletic field, or another personal location.

Most seniors bring around four to five outfits, which gives us plenty of variety across both locations without feeling rushed. You’re always welcome to bring extra, and I’ll help you narrow things down so everything photographs well and feels cohesive.

With two locations, we build in extra time so we’re not rushing from place to place. This lets us take advantage of different lighting, explore each spot, and create a gallery that feels natural, balanced, and varied.

Collection Packages
Following your session, you’ll receive a beautifully curated online gallery featuring 50 or more fully edited portraits to view and share with family. From the comfort of home, you’ll have a few weeks to go through your images, revisit your favorites, and take your time deciding what you truly love. After viewing the full gallery, you’ll choose the collection and products that feel like the best fit for your family, creating a relaxed and flexible experience without any pressure.
This includes 20 high-resolution digital images of your choice, delivered via immediate download for easy access and sharing. Your online gallery also provides the option to order professional-quality prints and canvases directly, allowing you to create artwork for your home whenever you’re ready. Additional images and upgrades are always available as you design a collection that fits your family best.

Prior to your session, we’ll chat about your vision, how you want to view these images in the future and where they might live in your home. From there, I’ll help you custom-design a collection that fits perfectly, whether that’s a hand-crafted heirloom album or a stunning gallery wall for your living room.
Your package is completely flexible. If you fall in love with more photos than you expected, you can easily add extra digital images or upgrade to purchase your full gallery when you view your final proofs.

I know how exciting it is to wait for your photos (trust me, I’m always just as excited to edit them as you are to see them!). To tide you over, I’ll send over a few sneak peeks within a day or two of our session so you can share them with family and friends right away.
Your full gallery will be ready within 2 to 3 weeks.
When it’s ready, I will send you a beautiful, private viewing gallery. This gives you and your family the space to sit down together, relive the memories of our day, and choose the perfect collection of digital images and physical keepsakes that fit your home and your budget—no pressure, just the freedom to choose exactly what you love!

The short answer: it depends on what we’re capturing! Sessions can range anywhere from a quick 15-minute mini-session to a few hours for a Signature Senior experience.
The long answer: I don't believe in putting the pressure of a ticking clock on our time together. My main priority is making sure we get the images you’ve been dreaming of. Whether that takes 30 minutes or a few hours, we will work together at a pace that feels natural and relaxed to ensure we capture the magic.

Preparing for your session should be fun, not stressful! To start, we’ll work together before your shoot to help you style and choose the perfect outfits.
As a general guide, I always recommend choosing outfits that feel like you and that you can move comfortably in. Rather than identical matching outfits, aim for coordinated colors. Neutrals, earth tones, soft patterns, and simple layers usually photograph beautifully, while logos, neon, and overly busy prints are best avoided.

Don't sweat the forecast! Mother Nature has a mind of her own, and my goal is to make sure you get the absolute best possible light and conditions for your shoot, especially for outdoor sessions.
If the weather isn't cooperating on the day of your session, we will simply reschedule for the next available date that works for both of us. I keep an eye on the radar leading up to our shoot and will make the official call if we need to pivot. Your photos are worth waiting for perfect conditions!
